So, after a bunch of research and question asking I’ve come to the conclusion that a torque converter is the only way to build this thing.  I’m ordering the part today which should give us a week or so to get the frame and the spool built.  I’m that excited about this project!  Here’s a link to the part, incase anyone else is interested:

The part is ordered!  The shipping was 1/3 of the cost, but this is Hawaii so what did I expect?  Haha.  Can’t wait to get this thing going!
